I'm looking at this objectively and trying to see if there's anything to be read between the lines. Powell was the smartest guy to ever be associated with Clinton or either Bushes. So he's not a whack job. He got used by W Bush so he may have an axe to grind and went with Obama out of a payback plan, but that doesn't seem to be his style. He's classier than that. He also doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who would pick Obama for reasons of personality. He's too smart. So what might be his other possible motives?
Powell puts a very needed, grounded, rational voice in Obamas ear, whether he wants to hear it or not. He has to listen and can't push Powell aside, he has to keep him close to give the appearance of wanting to hear advice on matters that are out of his realm of experience, globally. And Powell will hear things and have his own circle of military contacts, who won't put party first over country. Obama might be already regretting Powell's endorsement. Powell may well save this country, if Obama's other "special advisors" don't find a way to silence him.
I recall very ardent Obama supporters cursing Powell over his involvement in the Iraq war, calling him a traitor. By now they've no doubt forgiven him and love him. Just as right wingers who loved him now hate him.
Ah, the hypocrisy.

I disagree. There is no betrayal or deception. It's what one feels when slapped in the face.

Because it is Obama, a Powell endorsement is a good thing. If he had endorsed McCain the media and Obamatons would be saying that Colin Powell was nothing more than a Bush puppet and the mouthpiece for getting us into Iraq.

Yeah, you're racist

Does anyone really vote for or change their vote because of a person's endorsement? I truly hope not.

There is no news here!
When Al Haig endorses Obama, then you might have something news worthy!
As a libertarian/constitutionalist who has never endorsed Obama on CD, Powell puts McCain to shame in terms of patriotism and conservativism.

Comrade Commissar McCain = pro-bailout and pro-illegal immigrant liberal warmongerer

Excuse me Dude, but the OP was the one that brought up affirmative action. In point of fact the OP didn't raise any issues other than race to dis Powell's endorsement.

In short, excuse the expression, pot calling kettle black!
