The polls being taken are seriously flawed

(1) People lie when called on a poll. I have done it myself so have some of my friends.

(2) The number of "home" phones is seriously declining. My caller ID will block unidentified numbers or I just won't answer. Therefore the number of stable homeowners available for polling is relatively smaller than in the past

(3) Answering Pollster's questions takes time. It's annoying in the first place and if it goes on for more than a few minutes most people hang up.

(4) These days most people use a cell phone. There are no real cell phone directories. Most people don't give out their cell numbers because they don't want solicitors or sales calls taking up their minutes. Therefore the phone numbers available for pollsters is more limited than in the past.

(5) The cell phone numbers most phone solicitors have is compiled from lists sold by banks and credit companies of deliquent credit accounts. Not a reliable sample!

(6) With a smaller number of phones available to call and fewer people willing to participate it must be difficult to get a fair sampling by phone. People who have done polling here tell me that when someone hangs up on them they often make up data and fill out the form themselves. How widespread is this practice?

So don't listen to them. The vote is two weeks away. If the votes come out close to the polls, then we will know!

Sure they are. ESPECIALLY IF THEY DON'T RUN IN YOUR FAVOR.

I haven't seen them. I see a lot of reasons why ANY poll could be called into question--political or otherwise. Don't you?

You and your friends have answered polls from groups that your caller id blocked, never called your cell phone that your credit card company sold, and since you hung up early, they filled in the rest of the questionnaire without your input.

Really.

Right thats the only one that counts. Polls are only as good as the data used to compile them and the honesty of the people conducting them!

Although these may be true, the vast majority of polls reflect that Obama is far ahead. I have resigned myself to the fact that Obam/Biden are leading, and in most part because of America's dissatisfaction (whether deserved or not) with George W. Bush.

IMO, the Democrat controlled Congress is as much to blame (economics wise) as "W," however, the war in Iraq and its' cost in American lives, as well as the billions of dollars funneled into this effort, people are simply sick of anyone who can be connected to "W." And McCain, through political affiliation alone is connected to Bush.

You're really not gonna like them after the impact of Colin Powell's endorsement on Meet The Press takes full effect.

In fact they are so fundamentally flawed, that they tell you just how flawed they are right there on the bottom. Shameless!
