Your Federal income tax will go up $12. That's no typo. That is twelve dollars. That's four gallons in your SUV, a modestly-priced entree at a restaurant, or less than two movie tickets.

That's it.

$12.

Guess it has been a while since you have been to a movie, they are about $12 each now.

But I don't think that those making between $227 and $603 are really that strapped where it matters. And if they are, perhaps the should seek financial counseling.

You're right. I have not been to a movie in quite a while. Holy crap.

Crap.

I'm going on welfare if my taxes go up $12, why bother working if I'm spreading that $12 around.

If you go to a Sunday matinée, $12 will buy you two tickets!

Meh. They're both full of crap. Sooner or later, everyone's taxes are going to have to go way up. The national debt is almost the entire GDP. Cuts in spending will not fix this problem.

Unfortunately, June 11th was before the you know what hit the fan hit Wall Street. I doubt either candidates' campaign platform will have any resemblance to what will have to be done tax wise.

Expect taxes to increase no matter what your income level.

Since the top tax bracket under Obama alone is changing from 35% to 39% this is not possible and then add in the capital gains increase and it goes up even more. This is goofy math at best.
