I know the limitations to a roth. I have been maxing one out every year since my mid 20's.

nothing illegal about investing in a roth! it's my way of extending a middle finger to all the bad decisions made by the federal government.

By the way, she may find out you contribute to a Roth IRA, and wonder why your income is so low that you still qualify for one... maybe there's a 'moped' line around that one...

income is low because of the chosen profession and jobs at the beach are low paying. but it's nice to keep the fruits of your labor.
