I agree. I have never heard anything like what we've been hearing lately. It's just crazy, really! I truly, seriously wonder if McCain is going senile,as I never would have expected this from him, even after some of the other tales I've heard about him.

Not that I support him because I don't. But I don't think McCain is running his campaign the party is and the same people who ran Bush attack game. What I think McCain did is let winning over come him. I think and you can see this during the debates is that McCain thinks Obama is beneath him. He doesn't look at him , rolls his eyes. I think he feels he should have this over this new guy. He also has spent to much time worring about pleasing his base. I think even in the last 4 years people because of what we are facing said enough it doesn't work this time.

McCain gives me the impression that he thinks he is entitled to this job.

Yes. The uneducated seem more moved by symbols and buzz words and dogma and propaganda.
The unscrupulous take advantage of them and their patriotism and often do nothing for them when in office.
We're not talking welfare, here. We are referring for jobs and health care and an affordable education for their children.

So many Republicans are just like McCain. Wealthy. They sometimes forget who their audience is and will post on forums like this about how the economy was/is BOOMING under Bush.

Yeah. It was booming for the already well-to-do. Under Bush there were 33% more millionaires created.

The majority of us, the great middle class, pretty much, in real adjusted dollars, had salaries that remained the same as they were when Bush first took office.

The old McCain, the one who wanted campaign financing reform, WAS the maverick. This McCain, to me, has just caved. He is old and tired and seems to be doing the 'talking points' that had served the Republicans well through many elections.

Just like dogma in religion, I think many Republicans are sick of the dogma in their party. We all need open minds that explore solutions and find what works. We need to build an economy that will restore this nation to greatness. We need leaders who do not embarrass us when talking to foreign dignitaries. We need to drop party lines and all those lobbiests and promises of cushy jobs when we leave office, and roll up our sleeves and construct something that builds into a great future in a thriving economy.

We have to drop governments relationship with big oil and develop alternate non-polluting fuels, ones that will not leave poisonous gasses in the ground like 'clean' coal, or leave radioactive waste there like nuclear.

CEO's of corporations should benefit if they do good jobs, but they should also suffer when things go bad. We certainly, with our current system, have socialism for the wealthy. With all the bailouts that we have given to the large corporations, we have, for a long time, some form of socialism for corporations. The Nazis had these things, too.

We do NOT have enough of a safety net for the people. When the people say they need health care, that the middle class, even with health insurance, can and do go bankrupt, and they ask for help - THAT is when our government decides that 'No, that's socialism. We cannot help you. We're a democratic republic.'

The corporations and the wealthy get a socialist handout and the people can just eat dust. And their Republican candidates frighten their followers into thinking that they are just a bunch of freeloaders if they ask for help.

And there are Republican poor and middle class people who actually buy that swill. Shoot themselves in the feet. All for the sake of the flag. Oh, yeah, the bible is also very nicely used as a tool to the same end.

How long will those people be fooled? When do they lose their fear of thinking outside of that box they are in?

What I have noticed and saw in this interview that Brain Williama did with NBC news. This is what I see. McCain/ Palin every time someone talks to them they spend their time dishing Obama. I get that. But they spend the other time patty themselves on the back McCain says something like I was in a lane and there was this attack. Who cares. It isn't telling people who you are and what they will do it showing that you are self serving like look at us aren't we great.

Yeah, he totally sold out. I doubt he really wanted Palin as his VP pick either - just some Rovian tactic.
