Fivethirtyeight dot com now showing 2 "safe" D victories over current Rs, Udall/NM and Warner/VA.

The "likelies" are Udall/CO (94%) and Shaheen/NH (85%).

The "leaners" are Hagen/NC and Merkley/OR both at 65%.

The "leaners" are Franken/MN (59%) and Begich/AK (53%).

The only "leaner" Rs are in MS, AL and GA and they're all above 70%.

It doesn't look like there will be 60 safe votes, unless "traitor" Joe Lieberman goes against his "conscience" and votes with the Ds.

Any thoughts on this?

If Harry Reid, who has constantly said, "Lieberman is with us on everything except the war" (complete BS by the way) remains as Majority Leader, I think they'll let Lieberman keep his parking space and caucaus with them.

If my preference, Hillary Clinton, becomes ML do any of you think she'll kick Lieberman to the curb? Where he truly belongs.

golfgod, it will be very interesting. The Southern States I suspect will determine the strategy for Senator Clinton, who I also suspect is a shoo in. One thing, Senator's Clinton and Obama agree on most everything, and I suspect while this has been a parody it is also a truism. This in itself will be a very interesting post election Administration when one considers the immediate and longer term past, the Clinton's, the GOP and Senator Obama's platform. For those who have endured ACT I, ACT II promises to be as entertaining if not more....

Hillary's a pragmatist. Lieberman's support on her healthcare plan could make a difference as to whether he's kicked to the curb if she becomes ML. If she becomes ML, the healthcare issue will be at the top of her list.
