Do you believe the Governor has a future as a National Political figure, or he she torched the bridges she's crossed never to be rebuilt?

Chris Matthews mentioned yesterday she could be offered a job as talk show host. She appeals to right wing base and their narrow views, and I think that's a real bridge to nowhere. There's lots of infighting in Palin's campaign and she's going take a lot of blame for McCain's loss. The term used was "shredded" in the article I read.

Doesn't her husband have a lucrative job with the oil industry - and his own fishing business? If she does not hold office in Alaska they'd have to move and give up that income. Unless he got transferred. Maybe the company would do that to have her as such an advocate for them in Washington. I can't really see anyone paying much attention to her.

Palin and Huckabee will go after the rabid right wing vote for 2012 presidential run -their target audience has a lot of overlap. I really think Palin has huge ambitions that are disproportionate to her qualifications. In a national Republican stage, she will lose to the much more likeable Huck. Neither will carry the country in the near future.

Well tenders in the oil industry make good money, but hardly lucrative.

I dunno. Unless Palin has a script in front of her, she's not the most articulate person. On Fox, however, she might just be able to babble endless talking points and get away with it.

In contrast, someone like Huckabee is a much better fit for a Fox talk show. I may not agree with much of what he says but he can talk without stumbling over his own words.

Most Repubs get ahead in industry after political careers by catering to lobbyists. She is certainly guaranteed a nice income working for the oil industry, but since she has become so high profile the GOP will groom her for something.

It will never excuse the fact she went to 6 colleges to get a degree in broadcasting and is not very smart, nor will she ever be, but since the Repub party is made up of ideologues she does not have to be.

Remember, Repubs are anti-intellectuals. She doesnt believe in climate change, wanted to ban certain books, and wants creationism taught over evolution.

My mom says that she would be good as a televangelist.

I think all the talk about her positioning herself for 2012 is wishfull thinking. By then she will be "Sarah Who?"
