Palin in Ohio right now:

Tito the Builder, "Born in Colombia but made in the USA."

She also said that Ohioans know how to raise people right, as evidenced by Joe the Plumber down the road.

Amazing, isn't it? The phrase about Ohioans though changes according to her location, I have heard Floridians know how to raise people right, Minnesotans know how to raise people right, and also, the "small town" folks know how to raise people right!.

Palin really needs a new speechwriter.

She's broken away from her handlers and is careening around on her own now, out of control.

Lena Lamont was like that.

They dont make comic foils the way they used to....

That would certainly explain the fruit flies comment, which was unbelievable.

I know I'll regret asking this, but what fruit fly comment are you referring to?

You'd think she'd be all in favor of fruit flies. Since they're experts at reproducing quickly, surely we could all learn the lessons of life from them.

In her speech promising to support special needs kids. . .

Palin Details Special Needs Policies | The Trail | washingtonpost.com
Quote:
. . ."That's more than the shortfall to fully fund the IDEA," she said. And where does a lot of that earmark money end up? It goes to projects having little or nothing to do with the public good -- things like fruit fly research in Paris, France, or a public policy center named for the guy who got the earmark. In our administration, we're going to reform and refocus. We're going to get our federal priorities straight, and fulfill our country's commitment to give every child opportunity and hope in life."

As soon as Palin spoke, Democrats issued a long list of examples in which McCain had voted against fully funding IDEA and other special education programs. They also noted that scientific studies involving fruit flies are helping further researchers' understanding of autism, a disorder that both Palin and McCain speak of frequently while campaigning. Palin's nephew has autism, something she mentioned in today's speech. . .

Keith Olbermann noticed the fruit flies research too - which SP said was French, with a smirk and rolled eyes- so Olbermann spoke to someone at Duke, where the fruit fly research is actually happening.

The Q is does she really not know, or is she just pushing her followers' buttons and counting on them not to check?
