I know that in the past and even still today, White people have not treated Black people well and have made it as difficult as possible for us to succeed. But we have perserved and a good number of us have achieved great success. And now a Black man is on the verge of accomplishing the greatest level of success in this country: becoming President of the USA.

Why does this scare White people so much? Do you think that once Barack Obamam becomes President we'll treat you the way you have treated us? That's not the plan. There is NO Black vs. White plan. There is NO get back at Whitey plan. The only plan Obama has is to clean-up the Bush mess and get this country back on track.

Close your eyes and don't see a Black man: If a White man were saying these things, would you vote for him?

I treat people as individuals. I haven't treated any race bad. I seriously doubt that becoming president of the US is the highest level of success. I would take bill gate's job any day. if a white man were saying these things, I wouldn't vote for him. white, black, they are all politicians. politicians pay lip service and do little else. I am a libertarian minded person. if a good candidate was purple I would vote for them.

No I would not. And I know you won't believe me, but it has NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE. He is a socialist, far left politician, that is going to change the very framework of our government. His disdain for everything this country was built on is what scares me. Can you understand that, and stop assuming it is race?

This post is racist simply by the title. If someone posted a "why are black people scared" topic the OP would be getting slammed.

This thread should be taken down.

First of all Obama is not black. He is 1/2 black and 1/2 white. And since he was raised primarily on the white side of his family, you could argue that he is even more than 1/2 white!
Secondly, if we were scared of him, why are so many of us working hard to elect him? If you are near Georgia, I invite you to come to the Cobb Obama offices on East West Connector or in Marietta where you will see that 4 of every 5 volunteers here are white!

And you think this country is running well now?

Please don't be a racist. People need to get beyond that.

I'm watching CNN and an entire room of people have said they knew someone who said they will not vote for Barack Obama simply because he is Black. If you don't agree with his politics, GREAT. That's why we have choice in this country. But there are several polls that have suggested that Obam's race is figuring into thier decision.

Although the title of the thread is misleading, it is a valid point. There are SOME white people who are scared of Obama being president. Anyone who denies that fact is not being truthful.
