I've noticed that this forum as of late has been pretty light on intelligent conversation and information exchange, and has kind of spiraled into a bashfest against all of the candidates in last-minute attempts to smear and mock.

While I have to admit that I enjoy a good Palin-mocking now and then, the important thing to remember is that we're all (or at least, most of us are) adults here, and the overwhelming majority of us have already made up our minds about the candidates. Almost all of us already know who we think would be good for our families and our countries. If anyone hasn't made up his or her mind yet, there's not really any more information that can be brought to light at this point...It's all been said already. No more threads about the KKK or terrorists or Kenya or Joe-whoever or Socialism or clothing or fruit flies are gonna change our minds at this point, right?

Although race-bait threads, Palin-mocking threads, Obama's-a-terrorist threads, anti-America threads, etc, are plentiful right now, I'd like to gently remind everyone that:

Regardless of whom you support, the most important thing at this point is that we each get out there and VOTE. Become part of history. Don't confine your 'voice' to an anonymous internet forum. Let it be heard by casting a vote for your candidate of choice. Whether you vote early, or wait until November 4, please be sure to let your vote be counted. If not for yourself, do it for your country. (If not for your country, do it for me. ) Seriously, though...you owe it to yourself and to the rest of us to put our democratic system to work. We all know the issues. We all know the controversies. Only we can decide who we want to serve as our next President.

Don't forget to VOTE. (Especially if you support Obama!)

I agree. Our right to vote has been paid for with generations of blood. The least we can do to honor that sacrifice is to use to the right that it paid for and VOTE.

I suspect that most of us on this forum who live in states that allow early voting have already voted. I have. And, yes, I voted for Obama/Biden as did my wife.

You never know...

People get caught up with their families, their kids, their jobs, day-to-day stuff, and before you know it, Election Day is here and people still haven't voted. When faced with the options of either going home after work and relaxing, getting errands done, or standing in line for who-knows-how-long at the neighborhood polling center, many people choose not to stand in line, thinking, "Well, it's just one vote...it won't make a difference." Imagine if we all thought that, and thusly, didn't vote? Or if even 25% of us thought that? Elections would change dramatically.

Although I realize that life gets in the way sometimes, I hope all of us get a chance to make our voices heard by voting.

I agree if we had a 75% turnout it would appear more as if Democracy was at work. Being, said the lesser of two evils is still evil.

Heh, right? No reason at all, except the OP apparently felt the need to preach to the choir.

Right. I didn't clearly explain the obstacles many of us face regarding voting in my previous post. Having reading and comprehension issues again?

No one's preaching to anyone. If you don't want to read it, don't read it. If you can't comprehend the innocuous and motivational intentions of my thread, then I feel sorry for you. But, alas, I still hope you're able to vote.

Just wondering why you had to write TWO of these posts with the same topic (gee, wonder what happened to the first one?) and yell at people to "shut up."
