Those are the people serving/protecting YOUR country, so I think you need to show them a little more respect.

The sad part is those "yokels" have to protect your sorry butt just like they do those that deserve it and admire their service.

Strange then that the members of the armed forces contributed to Obama 6 times more than they did to McCain.

I wish I could have joined the Air Force. I tried, but they denied me. I wanted to join to learn a trade (Aviation Engineering) and to further my education, not because I'm a 'yokel'. And yes, the polls were a little....off. Everyone military person I know is for Obama. Or Burr, or Ron Paul in a few cases

Which means............NOTHING other than perhaps a hand full of minority troops gave till it hurt?

According to this BELIEVABLE poll Military Times poll: Troops backing McCain - Military News - Military Times

Stands to reason, vote for the one that knows, not the one that sympathizes with the enemy.

I've been hearing this since my first tour in SEA 67. At the time almost my entire outfit was pro war candidate. By my 3rd tour, 71 the only ones for the war were the "lifers" whose thoughts were; "it's a bad war, but it's the only one we've got". Note for those of you who never served, war is good for promotions. By '71 I think the Army was still trying to work through the '68 Captain's promotion list.

Most older soldiers are likely for Obama, to include the officer corps. Young soldiers are less educated and have less experience and are more likely to favor McCain. My political views were once conservative when I was in the Army, but then I got educated, and learned that Republicans are, by and large, white collar criminals

As the military donations prove.

ABC News: Obama, Paul net most military workers' campaign donations
