Keith Olbermann's special 'Campaign Comment' tonight was very well-said, and I believe he spoke of an all-important issue that should be addressed by McCain ASAP.

I agree with Olbermann in his plea for McCain to say something to his supporters and the rest of America about racial tension/race relations in light of what happened with Ashley Todd last week (his campaign worker who falsely claimed that a tall black man had attacked her for being a McCain supporter).

Why hasn't McCain addressed this important topic? Why hasn't McCain denounced Ashley Todd and the people who tried to exploit her accusations? What's wrong with him??

Video and transcript provided in this link:
Olbermann to McCain: Speak up and lead! - Countdown with Keith Olbermann - MSNBC.com

Quote:
This is where you come in, Sen. McCain. No histrionics from me to you this time, Senator. No yelling. Just a plea. Say something about this. Now. Say something strongly and succinctly about the unacceptability of what happened and how some of your supporters tried to exploit it.

I am not asking you to assume the responsibility for this, no matter how your campaign pushed this story. I have no doubt that in the mirror-image scenario, many of Senator Obama's supporters would do the same. But I also have no doubt that by this point in that mirror-image scenario, Sen. Obama would have said something to try to stop the next Ashley Todd and the next John Moody.
...
This chance, Sir, is yours. Say something. Or better yet, say something with Sen. Obama, about race and how we live with one another. Let this last week of the campaign be remembered, no matter how it turns out next Tuesday, as something other than the time Ashley Todd lied, and the John Moodys threatened, and you said nothing.

Did you even listen to the video (it's only 5:46 in length), or read the transcript??

It has nothing to do with whether or not Olbermann is a radical, or whether or not you're a MCCain or Obama supporter. Do you not believe that it's important for McCain to say something to his supporters (heck, all of us) about the importance of race relations, especially in light of what happened within his own campaign last week?

Regardless of your views of Olbermann or Obama or MSNBC, do you honestly not think it's important for McCain to speak out against what happened with this whole Ashley Todd ridiculousness?

I've never seen this guy but he admits he yells and engages in "histrionics?" Heh.

McCain to Olbermann: Shut up and be a MAN!

(We all know the root of the word "histrionics," don't we?)

I am very surprised that McCain has said nothing about this incident. Of course he is in no way responsible, but it does reflect badly on his already tarnished campaign. He has a responsibility, IMO, to at least mention it and let America know that he will not tolerate and does not condone any racial incitement or activities from his campaign staff.

It does seem peculiar that he has not even spoken about it.

Well, he'd only mumble quietly like he did when that woman called Obama an Arab.

A leader? McCain???!!!!! A mumbling old man who has been beaten down and can't even speak up or out!!!

And SOME want him to lead this country?!?

Olbermann is a joke. What if Ashley Todd is a LIBERAL plant???

ATTENTION:

Do NOT believe any videos on the NET on McCAIN/PALIN that places the campaign in a bad light.
There are many democrats who voted for Hillary who are now supporters of MCCAIN. Which means that there are many many LIBERAL plants in the MCCAIN/PALIN campaigns. Which again means that the MCCAIN camp does not know which liberal are supporters of MCCAIN and which are NOT and are pretending.

A MCCAIN supporter would NOT videotape themselves being stupid and publish it on the NET quickly to show to the world. Only a LIBERAL plant videotaping their co-conspirators who are pretending to be MCCAIN/PALIN supporters doing outrageous things would do this!!!! Don't fall for these LIBERAL race-baiters!!!

ALSO, DO NOT BELIEVE any article that puts the MCCAIN/PALIN camp in a bad light. There were recent articles of supposedly MCCAIN/PALIN aides that were badmouthing the campaign. Those are LIBERAL plants. There are pretending to be MCCAIN/PALIN supporters. If they were TRUE McCAIN supporters, they would never do that and be there to support MCCAIN/PALIN and help them WIN the election!!!! No TRUE MCCAIN/PALIN supporter would ever jeopardize the campaign!!!!!

So, are you claiming that McCain is loony enough to think that Ashley Todd was a liberal plant, and that's why he hasn't spoken out against her actions, as well as the people who tried to exploit her story up until the point that it was proven false?

You think that McCain is brushing the whole thing off () as a liberal undercover operation?

You think that in light of the fear and sordidness that came from the whole situation, McCain doesn't see any reason to address the issue of race relations, especially in regard to this election?

Seriously, this is what you think?

Tell me then, why hasn't McCain denounced the liberals for planting said plant and for race-baiting, which is arguably even more dangerous than racism itself?
