I think the Republicans tried their best. There just wasn't a topic that gained any traction on Obama.

They tried William Ayers, rumors of Socialist behavior, attack after personal attack, internet rumors of him not being an American citizen, that he is Muslim--the list goes on and on.

The McCain campaign & Republican party will look back on this loss, as McCain focusing too much energy on trashing Obama--rather than focusing energy on the specifics of why he'd be a better President.

McCain was also very unorganized in terms of his campaigns' setup in the battleground states. He made a huge blunder, I think, when he hemmed and hawed about the $700 billion bailout package, while Obama made clear, concise, solid decisions and remained cool.

An economic crisis was hardly a surprise... most people I know saw it coming years ago. We heard plenty of warnings about subprime mortgages month after month. The surprise--to me--was that nobody listened. They just assumed unregulated financial institutions would "do the right thing."

Seriously. With a Republican White House and administration, why have they uncovered no real PROOF of all these BS allegations about Obama?

I think it's quite amusing that all the people that posted that BS on this forum have nothing to say. The big surprise was going to BLOW THE LID off this election. I guess we still have 14 hours to go....

LOL, and why hasn't McCain been bringing up the whitey tape as part of his stump speech? Or the birth certificate baloney? If there was any merit to it he'd be mentioning "Berg" more often than "Joe the Plumber."

...now the big claim is "a major game changer will be announced the day before the election. And all you early voters will be sooooooo sorry."

Disgusting, when you think about it. The only tactic left is to try to discourage people from voting.

Exactly right. How dare that idiot Gov. Crist extend the voting hours in the state of Florida, so that more people can have the pooprtunity to vote!!!!
