I remember when Obama gave that one speech. He said that he was going to pay people's mortgages for them, put gas in their car whenever they got below 1/2 of a tank, and erase everyone's credit card debt. What a great day that was!

Yep. He even made a few waves in 2005 by saying that he thought things like 8th Grade graduations and pre-school graduations were pointless. He said that the kids weren't graduating anything and needed to keep to their books.
Allow me to elaborate. If you work at a job where you receive an hourly wage and your hours are cut due to a slowing economy, then you are going to be making less money. If your bills equal roughly what your income is and then your income decreases, it will typically cause someone to "worry" about whether or not they can pay their bills. Now, if this voter feels that Obama will help the current economic condition, then it makes sense that they will feel less worry once Obama gets into office.
I bet if she was White, they'd have come to this conclusion without your help.
