I usually dislike posting definitions but in this case I'll make an exception.

That proves nothing.

Do you want a theocracy?

This country was founded as a secularist nation. If we are going say it's a bad thing then I guess we've all been bad people for over 200 years.

For godsake, people were talking about secularism as it functions in American society, not the multilayered history of secularism. If you want to live in a country that is a theocracy, move to the Middle East. Because the American people will NEVER let you Christian wingnuts turn the government of our country into an oppressive Christian-based theocracy. We had some of that with Bush, and we've had it. We're done. It's over. Bush is gone, and Palin and her witch doctoring, end-of-days utter bullcrap will be history, as well. Get over it.

If you would read your source, you would clearly see that secular is not a religion unto itself as you state. And its modern conception is this:
"Secularism is used in a restricted sense today, but it retains a philosophical aspect in political and social situations. Secularism has always carried a strong connotation of the desire to establish an autonomous political and social sphere which is naturalistic and materialistic, as opposed to a religious realm where the supernatural and faith take precedence."

It's to late now to do anything about it. If I had a billion, I might be able to buy my way into the white house. Sure looks up for sale to me.

We had to bail it out and pay the mortgage after 8 years of taking out second, third, and fourth mortgages with the Chinese and Saudis.

Selfish pride can be defined as "excessive confidence or glorification in one's self, possessions or nation." The concept is found in The Bible, along with pride itself, in words such as arrogance, haughtiness and conceit, among others, all of which are opposite of Godly humility. The wrongness of self-centered pride is essentially twofold. On a spiritual level, it inevitably leads to disregard, disrespect and disobedience to God i.e. self-centered pride is primarily what transformed the once-righteous Lucifer into the wicked Satan after he became too impressed with himself: "I will make myself like the Most High" (Isaiah 14:14 RSV, see also Born To Be Wild?). On a worldly level, selfish pride very often results in self-destructive behavior because, while a form of self-delusion, it isn't necessarily as much an overestimation of one's self as it is a dangerous underestimation of others, hence "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18 RSV). The Bible also speaks of a good pride, but it differs greatly from selfish pride.

Hmmmm....who is this describing?
