No where in that article does it say 18,000 people were there.

Sheesh, at least pick interesting things to lie about.

JEFFERSON CITY - Nearly 20,000 people crowded the Missouri Capitol today as the Republicans’ "Road to Victory" cut through Jefferson City.

Funny thing - back in 2004, remember all we heard about was the great turnout expected for the democrats - the youth vote would put them over the top. The media pretty muched ignored the turnout from the republican base - boy were they surprised. Remember?
You are living in a dream world if you think the democratic based was fired up 4 years ago like it is now. 4 years ago, John Kerry wasnt getting the majority of the women, suburban and independent votes. Obama is. 4 years ago John Kerry was not leading in ANY polls in Iowa, Colorado, New Mexico, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and North Dakota. Enthusiasm for the democratic candidate this year FAR exceeds 2004.

The media is so disgusting - they keep trying to put forth the narrative that SHE is dragging the ticket down. I think not. SHE has fired up the base, big time. Last time that happened was in 2004.

Palin may have fired up the GOP base but she has fired up the opposition as well. Anyway, firing up her base isn't good enough.,.because there are more Democrats, any Republican candidate needs the majority of independents.

As for your BS about the media and Palin..from the new Faux News Poll

More Americans would be comfortable with Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden stepping in as president if it were to become necessary than with Republican Sarah Palin. Nearly half (47 percent) say they would be "extremely" or "very" comfortable with Biden and 51 percent would be uncomfortable. For Palin, 32 percent would be "extremely" or "very" comfortable if she had to step in and serve as president and 67 percent would be uncomfortable.

Among independents, 43 percent would be comfortable with Biden and 28 percent with Palin.

Palin now has an overall negative rating, as slightly more voters have an unfavorable view of her (49 percent) than have a favorable one (45 percent). Looking back at results among registered voters from the time of Palin's announcement to today, her positive rating has dropped by 8 points, while her negative rating has increased by 20 points.

Can you look at a crowd of people and tell how many are there? I can't. I don't know how anybody else does either. Heck...could be 1000....could be 10000....I don't know.

No matter what happens tomorrow I'm so proud of her and how she has handled this. And if McCain wins I'm excited about her being the first woman VP in history.

Today's rally was on a Monday, midday, in Jefferson City. Obama's was on a Saturday in St. Louis. Jefferson City's population: 37,5050. St. Louis' population: 344,362.

That says alot about McCain's chances of winning Florida. McCain HAS to win the Tampa area if he is to win Florida and if he cant get more people than that in a red part of the state, McCain is in trouble.

As for the number of people showing up for these rallies, what venues are they using? That will determine whether or not they are bringing in good crowds.
I think it's GOOD FOR HER that she showed up in jeans. Now what are you going to say about her expensive wardrobe?
