An airstrike by United States-led forces killed 40 civilians and wounded 28 others at a wedding party in Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan, Afghan officials said Wednesday. The casualties included women and children, the officials said.
On Wednesday, at a news conference called to congratulate Mr. Obama, President Hamid Karzai said his first request to Mr. Obama would be “to end the civilian casualties.”

collateral damage is part of what happens when you don't responsibly run your own country.

What a cold and stupid line of blather. Those people at the wedding didn't deserve their fates.

Every time you shrug off civilian casualties with such indifference, imagine a Hellfire missile landing right on top of your house and your family.
