The good thing about Obama getting into office is that now the democrats are responsible for cleaning up the economic mess that they created. Most people are not aware that was the democratic congress that allowed Fannie Mae and FHA to process so many ridiculous loans to get over on the common American. Bush tried to stop this, and Clinton supported Bush in his efforts, but the Democratic congress overruled, and thus spurred the downward spiral that is seen in today's economy. Ironically, Obama will now have to make good on his promise for "change", and clean up the mess that he and other democrats in congress created.
We have no choice but to give him a chance! The majority has spoken. I just hope they are ready for what they voted into office.

Oh Yes... The Democrats are at fault!!!

Clinton administration's "BANK AFFIRMATIVE ACTION" They forced banks to make BAD LOANS

YouTube - EVIDENCE FOUND!!! Clinton administration's "BANK AFFIRMATIVE ACTION" They forced banks to make BAD LOANS and ACORN and Obama's tie to all of it!!!

Do your homework!!!

You know, everything was going well with BUSH up until the DEMOCRATS took over Congress in 2006.

Obama should move everything back to 2005 before the DEMOCRATS took over Congress who by the way finished up what the Dems covered up in Late 2004.

Don't insult until after you educate yourself. The twisted third-world US media does not tell you everything. You have to do your own research to get to the truth.

The Dems created the problem? What kind of idiotic statement is that?

It was created over decades by many. The one thing that they have in common is that they were implementing conservative policies.

It is true, though, that only Dems can fix the problem. The GOP believes that government is the problem. And they continue to prove it time and again.

Mind my words....in four years we will still hear "Bush is to blame, if it wasn't for George W. Bush, 8 years of Bush, etc..."

The most important thing I learned from this campaign and this forum is that the Dem. blame others for all that went wrong in their life, it is never them self who are to blame.....so Obama will keep on doing that.....

This is hilarious.

I'm sure that Bush thought everything was going fine until 2006. But only an idiot could believe a statement like that.

Really, if you want to be taken seriously, you have to show a bit more intelligence than that.

Study your facts before your post. The democratic congress is responsible for the faulty loans.
The GOP is not the party that blames government for everything ~ you have it twisted. Dems. favorite table talk is what the government did, and what can government do to fix it?
Study your facts.

The truth hurts and you know it.
USA was NOT struggling in 2001-2005. A lot of people were greedy getting rich and buying homes. Gasoline was at $2.60/gallon. I lived that era and I remembered it well. A relative sold a home for half a million dollars. Gas was still affordable.

Everything was okay until the Democrats shook up Congress and ruined 2007-2008.

Wow. I guess you forgot what happened after 9/11. Recession hit in 2001. Gas is now $2.01 a gallon at the station up the street from my house.

There were two problems with the loans. The low-income loan programs that got a lot of first-time buyers in homes. When the market headed south, a few of those went into default. That was a problem, but a small, manageable one.

The second problem was the sub-prime market. These were a different set of loans. When the market headed south, many of these people got into deep trouble. Still, a manageable problem.

What caused the Wall Street meltdown was the creation of the completely unregulated, under-secured $60 trillion derivative market. This is completely the fault of conservative policy. Without this problem, there would be no Wall Street failure.

The total mortgage market in the US was about $7trillion. So, what do you think was the problem? A small uptick in the default rate in a $7 trillion market, or the complete collapse of an unregulated, under-secured $60 trillion market?

Think hard.
