I think if the Repubs got back on track and maybe changed a few things, they will rise to power again. If they keep on the same path, they're finished. I truly believe you will see a Rep POTUS again. It all goes in cycles.

Bring back Nute and get rid of Pelosi and that would be a fair shake.
The Republicans will either find a new way to attract a more diverse bloc of voters...or perish. American politics are littered with parties that disintegrated because of infighting and loss of place in a new political landscape. But I suspect that the new GOP will become less socially extreme and try and appeal to minorities who are quickly becoming pluralities.
Remember, the Democrats were once the proud party of racism and white hegemony....
Unless Republicans shake off the right-wing extremists, increasingly open racists, and the evangelical Christians, they will NOT take charge of this country again.
The Republican Party is displaying itself a being the party of upper-class whites, Evangelicals, ignorant people, and flat out lunatics. With an increasingly diverse, secular, middle class, and educated population, people will tend to distance themselves from those groups and repel the ideals that they embrace.
America has changed with this election, and will continue to do so. Unless the Republicans revamp their image of being inclusive (economically and racially), they will not regain power anytime soon.
Republicans aren't the WHITE PARTY anyone can join, anyone can be a member ...
Check your history the Republicans freed the slaved, the Republicans got the equal rights amendment passed while the Democrats tried to block it.
Look it up.
That was then; this is now . . .
