Who are you directing your post to?

If you were directing it to me I will tell you that any "religious" aspect has nothing to do with the issue. It comes down to what a STATE will recognize as a legal marriage and for the most part, and pretty much in every one of the 50 states (not the 57 states that Obama thought we had) a "marriage" is defined as one that exists between a man and a woman. Not a woman and a woman and not a man and a man.

California even said "nope!" . And trust me, I was shocked when I saw that run across my info line.

When do human rights become superior to evolutionary theory that the left so embraces.... You know natural selection.... Kinda hard to have that if homosexuals die off after one generation.
Honestly, I mean really now? Do I even have to point out why this post is stupid?

Are there really 1000 rights/benefits you receive just from getting married? Someone needs to tell all the "about to get divorced" heterosexuals about that one.

Why should gays be allowed to get married? States say "between a man and a woman". If states vote against gay marriage, why should the Federal government get involved? That's like crying to the Principal b/c you don't like what the Vice Principal told you. B/c the gays aren't getting their way? Deal with it or be happy to take more states rights away from the states...socialism is that way...over the Atlantic -------->

You want to live outside of the box...find a way to do it and stop bothering me. And I say this with my best friend (since I was 3 years old) being a gay man. Even he agrees with me and had huge issues with heterosexuals fighting for the right to a lifestyle they have no clue about. Gay Hollyweird is only one example...YOUR gay friend/relative is only one other example. The Gay world is huge and seedy...and that's according to a gay, not me. So when gay marriage is "legal" you're going to see marriages last about 2 months. The gay "boy-toy" isn't going to take any more crap from his gay "sugar daddy"...because now he has a legal right to HALF! And it will go on and on. Courts will be tied up for years. I don't know anything other that what I hear from my gay BF...and he KNOWS what he is talking about.

According to my Gay...American gays act like children in a candy store (majority of). All party, all hook-up, all dangerous "interactions" (lest I get another "infraction"). The ones who have settled and are happy with themselves and where they are...aren't all hung up on the word "marriage".
How in the HELL do YOU make more than 250k a year?

Ya know what, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, and Spain all have legalized gay marriage, and they haven't fallen apart. Guess what, right-wingers, the US won't fall apart either. It's no longer 1956, and June Cleaver isn't going to waltz by in her neatly pressed dress and pearls to serve you milk & cookies.

I'm so sick of the religious trying to force their beliefs on me. I'm sick of hearing "the Bible says...." or "the Book of Mormon says....." I don't tell you how to worship, don't tell me how to live. Gay marriage isn't going to affect your marriage, your church, or your life whatsoever.

I guess we're forgetting that there are actually gay black people. It's not like gays are one segment of the population and blacks are another.

I pride myself as being a Democrat, but gay marriage is not a civil right. I am all for civil unions between gays; however, as far as marriage is concerned, I believe it should between a man and a woman. Many people might respond, "if you don't like gay marriage, don't get one." That response is ridiculous. That's like me saying, "Don't like pollution? Don't get a gas guzzler." I have morals and standards that I was raised with. Why should I throw those morals out of the window?

I take extreme offense to gays trying to compare their plight with the plight of African-Americans. Most gay people CAN walk down the street without everyone knowing that they're gay. Most Black people cannot walk down the street without everyone knowing that they're black.

With all of this said, do I believe that gays are equal to the rest of us? Absolutely. I don't believe homosexuality is a choice, either. I know people are born gay. Does this mean I support those people getting married to people of the same gender? Absolutely not.

Marriage, in my eyes, is a bond reserved for two people who produce or intend to produce offspring. There are vital roles that a mother and father (female and male) play in the upbringing of a child that a married gay couple cannot offer.

Just because people are against gay marriage doesn't make them bigots or intolerant. Everyone has morals and standards that they believe society should abide by, including African-Americans.

So walking down the street being black is now bad?
