Let's think about the pictures that we saw of McCain-Palin rallies. Contrast that with the rallies of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. The Republican party is stuck in a land of TV Land - 'Leave It To Beaver,' 'Father Knows Best,' 'Howdy Doody.'
Not only are they mostly White - they're mostly OLD. The GOP needs to do SOMETHING or else as their members age and die there will be no one filling in the vacancies in the ranks.
Hmm. The Republicans gave you the first black Secretary of State. There were also more minorities in the Bush cabinet than the Clinton cabinet. He also has more than tripled economic and developmental aid to Africa since taking office.
Very true. The Dems see minorities as underprivileged folks they can gift in exchange for their votes. It's a shame.
Everybody and their mom knows the GOP is in dire need of an extreme makeover. So please, no need to get all defensive, and you can't really win with that whole first Black cabinet member stuff when the Dems just elected the first Black president (kinda a mute point, you know what I mean).

True.
I look forward to the attempts over the next few years the Republican Party will make to woo new, younger voters of different races and creeds. It'll be so...corporate. It'll be just like when the tobacco companies get all hep :shudder:

Give me one black republican ELECTED into a major position of power.

African Americans vote 90%+ for democrats and have for a long time. Strange though the democrats still never really did anything to lift them up...but alas there is a new one with the same change mantra picking the same tired old former staffers....
