My bet is she is doing this to "clear her name" and a true maverick wouldn't care what McCain's idiot staffers thought or said. On the other hand, she could be setting herself up for a 2012 run (which she better not do).
My other thought is that she is going to try and separate herself from the puppet she turned into during the election. She had separate views from McCain and wants to express them without being called a "traitor" or "the one who brought down the Republican party". I still don't know why she or I should care. It's over. Obscurity can sometimes be a good things. Especially when you are a moron (had to throw that in)

I'd like to hear her explain how she can tolerate the idea of working with Obama on energy independence as she recently stated, when just a week ago she was attacking his moral character and his terrorist leanings.
