My wife and I drove to Buffalo Gap, Texas to eat dinner the weekend before the election. I picked up the Buffalo Gap monthly newspaper. It was unbelievable. Every page had a McCain/Palin logo on the top of it. The only article about Obama was headlined, "The Jihad Candidate." Most of the news articles and editorials were reprints of debunked emails. The Buffalo Gap area voted almost 100% for McCain/Palin. The truth is, I think the vote would have gone the same way even if the paper attempted to be "fair and balanced." Our Abilene paper did a fairly good job being balanced with the exception of two emails being printed as truth and as editorials on the Sunday before the election. On election day, they ran a retraction stating that they had not checked the veracity of the editorials and that were both incorrect, but it was almost hidden in a corner of the editorial page. This is a red place! Just like Oklahoma, which isn't too far from us.

No doubt Oklahoma is as red as they come... I would call the state universally and unabashedly 'corn pone' but that is neither here nor there.

But your argument hold no water.....................
With Obama not even winning with 18 to 29 year old group in Oklahoma, I would tell those Oklahomans in that age group who actually voted for Obama, I wouldn't be the least surprised if they feel they would be better off moving to a more enlightened and less bigoted place. Many of them for a long time have been moving to Dallas, anyway, which went for Obama.
