Why is the media so obsessed with Sarah Palin? The election is over...they are talking more about her than Obama. Everyone wants an interview with her. The media is still trashing her. Why??

People like to watch train wrecks. She's fun to have on - she's cute and appeals to many people. Same reason People Magazine shows umpteen photos of Brittney Spears. It sells. And apparently she's not turning down interview requests, so the more she's out there, the more there is to talk about her. If she didn't do interviews, she'd fade away quietly as there'd be little to say in the media.

Obama is a little too busy right now to do the talk show circuit.

they're still in palin-bashing mode.
expect it to continue for the next couple years at minimum.
it's easier than addressing the way they shamelessly rah-rahed bammers into office, tingly legs and all.

Default The cat fight.....

Because she is happy. Some people can't stand to see others have happy successful lives while they utter detest their own.

At best they show their own inadequacies and fears. At worst they just look bitter. It definitely shows that womens lib though is so shallow that it only entails 1 real issue. Abortion.

Plus women are so extremely harsh of other women and by nature are vocal when they don't agree.

No one is twisting her arm to go on all those shows. I am sure she's getting paid well for it.

People will eventually forget her, when she is done parading herself in front of the cameras, and literally inviting them into her home.

I guess it is the Brittney Spears, Paris Hilton syndrome. I don't get this stuff either. When I'm on the line at the supermarket or convenience store, I notice those idiotic Hollywood gossip magazines are always featuring the same inconsequential celebs on the cover. People seem to be fascinated with mediocrity. The redundancy is what I find bizarre. The same boring stories about the same boring people over and over again. Doesn't say much about our culture.

She's a curiosity. Having been thrust from relative obscurity into the national spotlight with the hope and expectation that 130+ million people would trust in her to run our country, she never did give us the opportunity to know her.

I think it proves she is a force to be reckoned with and she's not going away. If she were nothing, they wouldn't be interested. They are intrigued by her, as are the people on this board as evidenced by the fact that they are still posting about her after the election is over. I think we'll be seeing more of Palin in the coming years. Reagan was also dismissed in the beginning.

She definitely has star quality, though whether she'll stay in politics and not branch off into some other vein of showbiz remains to be seen. Plus the base really identified with her, and for everyone else she's a window on that world - and her way of speaking is still entertaining.
