So what's new....I heard the application process, and working most of my adult life for the federal government; the application process is lenghly and even more involved if you are applying for a position requiring a secret clearance background... No surprise for most fed gov't employees actually.

Oh, I heard they may have added a statement reference to if you have been friends with a terrorist anytime since birth? If your answer is yes, you must provide their full name, address , telephone number..

Hmmm, Obama can skate through without revealing anything about himself but wants full disclosure from those who would work for him. Okay.

It's nice to see an administration that takes proper governance seriously.

The days of Harriet Myers and Bush nominating religious fanatics/fundies like John Aschroft and incompetent boobs like Michael Brown are over.

It's better than the application to get a job with the Bush administration:

1. Do you work for the Heritage Foundation?
2. Are you a graduate of the Regent Law School?

If you answer yes to both .. you are automatically IN!!!!

People need to remember that getting a ticket or writing an embarrassing e-mail doesn't disqualify you for a job. They just want to know about it, to see what the potential problems might be. Very similar to getting a security clearance (which is no big deal here in the mid atlantic--every other person works for the govt. and needs a security clearance of some sort.)

It's got nothing to do with Obama. Those lengthy applications have been around for years. I have a friend in federal law enforcement. We've actually been friends since birth. I was among those she listed on her application as someone she was close to, and yup, they ran a background check on me for security purposes. This was 7 years ago, long before most of us had even heard of Obama.

Its allways different for politicians than non politicians.

The city workers in S.Florida go through some type investigation while some if not many of the politicians are disbared lawyers or arrested in past for something like corruption and whole array of other things

lol its funny in a sad way as its no joke .
