Do you want a fiscal conservative, or are you looking for someone who will push for conservative policymaking with regard to human rights?

From reading your posts for the last several months, I don't think that things like outlawing gay marriage/unions and abortion are as important to you as having a President be conservative with our budget.

Just curious if I am right.
I would like a hell of lot more conservatism when it comes to the budget, fiscally conservative for sure. I don't personally think gays should be allowed to marry, though I am all for civil unions. Of course, if they are allowed to marry it will not hurt me in any way, so I look at that as something I prefer one way but not worried if it goes the other way. I am against abortion and only because it far too often is used as birth control. I am the first to admit that I am not a woman so I have no idea how one feels about abortion, though my wife says she feels the same as I do toward abortion. I do lean a bit left when it has to do with social policies, but I would like to see the social policies cut back drastically and only given and there to help those that truly need help, and to me that means that if someone is making $40,000 a year, they do not help. They need to learn how to budget though.

I hope that I amswered what you wanted to know.

You seem to have a good head on your shoulders about what you would like to see for our country....I see no problem with it and I think Obama may just surprise you on how he presides over the issues that you mentioned...You maybe on here shouting his name in a good way come '12...OR I may be shouting for your man during that time depending on how he acts.

Thank you. You are right, I may be an Obama supporter come 2012 but only time will tell.

I think the governor is political poision as for the Republican party; she may be able to get some talk radio type of support, but those wingnuts aren't enough to carry an election.

I can't think of anything that would tear the party apart more than this.... it will absolutely destroy any chance any Republican has to have Palin on the air for a year of campaigning for the highest office in the land...

And it will be fun to watch too!!! Just think of all the new SNL comedy skits it will generate!!!
Mr Bob, you are just mean-spirited. IF she runs in 2012, I will be certain that she is being backed, financially by a combination of Fox News, Saturday Nite Live, and MSNBC! What grist for their collective mills!

Like Guiliani the reality couldn't live up to the hype. He was the presumed front runner due to (total lack of any) "national security cred". Walking around among the ruins doesn't mean you'd be good at protecting the "homeland". Once people he started campaigning, and running ads, his numbers dropped like a rock.

With Palin she was an "overnight sensation" (one night stand?), but once people started to compare her REAL record with what she had presented herself as people realized she was a confirmed LIAR. Of course many on the hard right wing couldn't, or didn't want to believe the truth. They kept insisting that she was as wonderful as SHE said she was. I guess the thought of chewing off their foreleg to get out of the trap was too painful to contemplate.
