Old news to some, sure, but I just now saw it for the first time so I'm LMAO--Obama said, without so much as a flinch afterward, that he's been to 57 states. If Bush had said that, the haters would still be talking about it.

On that note, I do wish him the best as president and hope he does right by this country.

How stupid he is! And he wangled himself a job at the University of Chicago lecturing on constitutional law - for 12 years

What made this faux pas even worse was he actually paused and thought about it before he said it.

Go to Youtube & watch David Letterman's top 10 things we will miss about Bush. That will put the 57 states thing in proper perspective.

He's not only said it once, he's made similar comments on several occasions. On one, he said "I've been to 54 states; 3 more to go, I think". I heard it with my own ears. I couldn't believe the let him get away with that. And the libs think Sarah Palin is dumb? Give me a break.

I never heard about this. I think you're making it up.

And if it's true, I think it's more evidence that he was joking. That's the kind of dry humor that I would use, counting on the intelligence of my audience to get it. Of course, I'd never try that here at CD.

The Obama years will see America recovering from the Dubyite damage. It's OK to feel good again. But there will be years of recovery ahead of aus all.

Put those sour grapes back in the bag and smile. Be part of the solution.

I think it's pretty clear that he did say "57 states." Whether it was a slip-up, or whether he was joking, is for anybody to decide. It almost appears that he was trying to say something about 47 of the 48 continental states.

But there's not much question that he said it. And if Bush had said the exact same thing, our mainstream propaganda ministry would have had a field day - and would still be having one.
