How can he be black if he's half white? He's simply an American.
Racism is alive & well eh?

I just hope this election has inspired the youth of this country in general. Urban, rural, rich, poor, democrat, republican, who cares? Everyone can use a little bit of inspiration right now. And I'm thrilled to see young people excited about politics again.

POSSIBLY Obamas greatest contribution to our country is nothing to do with policy.

He is an example of a black man who:
Went to school and graduated.
Worked hard whether you like the job he did or not he worked very hard at it.
Does not speak ebonics
Married the mother of his children

as opposed to the rappers and athlete thugs. Perhaps at least a few poor kids can look up to see the POTUS and think "maybe that can be me" vs being a rapper thug or other parasite.

There are many, many of those examples. More than thugs and rappers. Glad that one is President though.

True but Obama has the chance to partly drown out their negative messages of hos fights, and killing. Look at every rap mag out there. Some scowling black guy on the cover never smiling or happy.

These make me think:
You live in a mansion in a safe neighborhood
You ****** at least one (and possibly 5) beautiful woman last night
You drive a $100K car
You have a stupid high bank account
SMILE YOU IDIOT

Contrast this with an Obama mag
Im POTUS. BO wins.

I agree with everything said in the OP, except the universal ideology that education is the almighty solution for all. There is nothing wrong with learning a skill, or trade and being a blue collar worker. It is a much needed faction of society.

The problem with "everyone" must co to college and viewed as the only solution for ghetto America, is that it leads and has led to a dumbing-down of our education systems. When you have waves of people going to school, who are not really capable of learning at a higher education level, administrators feel pressured to reduce requirements. Professors begin succumbing to "they showed up and sat here, pass them all."

I make this assessment based on NO SPECIFIC race of people because intelligent, dumb and all people between come from all walks of life, race and background.

I agree that the oportunity to have a chance to go to college should be optional for all.

Not that it should take anything away single white moms (whom seem to fly right under the radar when it comes to people taking notice of them). It's as if they don't exist; but apparently there seems to be a double standard. White women who are single moms is totally out of the norm, and not a major concern. They have extended families who can help them whereas a poor hispanic or black single mom has the government, if I am making sense. I think this is how many view them when they find out that statisically there are more white people poor than blacks or hispanics as a whole.
So very true!!
Why is it that they fly under radar? Why do they (gov/and most people) assume every single poor white women has extended family that help them? I for the life of me can't figure that one out?
Thank you for putting it out there.
