What pollution? What environmental damage? By the end of weekend the incidental evidence of better than one million people having stood on the Mall for ten hours will be gone, and the ecosystem that exists there will continue along its customary path as if that great aggregation had never been there at all. No species will have declined. No resource will have been despoiled. The crowds will come again for the Cherry Blossom Festival, for the Folk Life Festival, and for the Fourth of July. And the cycle of all that is this place and its better than 25 million annual human visitors will continue as before...
Exactly. I'll bet dollars to donuts that many folks criticizing this bunch for regular crowd related trash has never said a word about mountaintop removal or strip mining or any of that. It's a joke.

Study that includes planes, trains, automobiles and even horses shows it would take an average American house 57,598 years to produce same carbon footprint.

Oh this is rich....
Where are the apologists to come along and spin it all away????
What's really fascinating is that the article was dated January 16--four days before the Inauguration even took place! Nothing but a bunch of estimates based on projections. And, of course, it got passed off as fact.
Why are not the environmentalists crying out about the great pollution and environmental damage caused by this event?
Typical Neocon view of environmental issues. Ignore all differences of scale and it makes perfect sense.
