So people who live in $300,000 homes are "jag offs" I think in many parts of the country thats a smaller home than your $60,000 house. I have property in Pittsburgh, $60,000 will buy a very decent home there, I also have property in Youngstown, and $60,000 buys a small mansion (ok, not literally but you get the idea)

And here $300K buys an updated beach cottage on a 50 X 100 lot. The house then gets torn down and a $700K house gets built. Lots of folks are upside down here. I'm not, been in the house over 20 years, before the last bubble.

If you read my other post you'll see I meant people buying houses they knew they couldn't afford.

Maybe Obama will provide us a nice dormitory type home to live in so we'll all be equal. Oh wait the Russians tried that and that was a total failure.

Or maybe he'll tax some more of your income to give those poor folk, but then you might lose your house.

for the most part , ya. can you tell me why a house is worth 300,000.00. a 3,000 sq ft house, 10,000.00 a sq ft. thats made out of mdf. and plastic siding, on a 1/3 acre lot. ya id say that would make you a jag-off

can anyone seriously tell me what justifys the value placed on these houses. there just isnt any rarity, nothing other than a fast talking high pressure salesman telling you that its worth it. so by the logic the free market uses i should be able to **** in a dixie cup and convince some knucklehead they cant live with out it or that there neighbor has three of them , and retire.

Spiderman

You should someday put a pencil to what it costs to build a home with labor, materials, the costs of land.

Unless you can find someone to donate all the above it aint cheap.
