No, Romney/Jindal for 2012. Stick Bachman in the DHS. She couldn't do worse than the loon up there now passing for Secty DHS.

Seems that this has been a threat for some time, even though people do not want to accept it:

"I hate to break it to Republicans, and to the Legion (which knows this, or should), but the military has been training servicemembers on the dangers of right wing extremist groups, and how they may target servicemembers and veterans, for years. That includes, yes, even under George W. Bush's Pentagon. "

Anyway, back to the OP: Yep, I agree this would be the dream GOP ticket.

So, to help the GOP get back on its feet, I recommend a tough-to-beat ticket of Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman in 2012! They are both brilliant leaders and lawmakers who have a deep understanding of the key issues like the economy, defense, and foreign affairs.

You'll energize the base like never before and, if all goes well, maybe even get 30% of the vote. Best of luck!
Great thread and the GOP will think that they have a "real winner" with 2 women [see we really are feminists!]. Republicans: The Party of DUH!

How do Democrats deal with domestic terrorists like Mike Ayers?

Oh yeah, they let them teach their children in a University in Chicago.

By the way, Janet Napolitano didn't have to announce the findings of this report at this time. And she didn't have to use it politically to rev up the left wing. But, she did. She deliberately stoked the fire and perpetuated divisiveness, calculating that liberals would embrace disdain for veterans of war, as if they were in lock step with Republicans who authorized war. Veterans were to be viewed as a product of something Democrats would never have involved themselves with. And Veterans should be watched, by liberal citizens, as suspects. Just a tactic to invoke hatred from within. This is how the Democratic Party keeps itself vibrant.

I am not impressed with Janet Napolitano.

And before anyone decides to endorse her politically motivated rant, remember who the REAL terrorists are.

As a Democrat and a liberal, I take great exception to your characterization of how liberals allegedly feel about the military. If you had done your homework, as I did, you would have discovered, as I did, and posted earlier today, that the military has been warning its members against exactly this sort of threat for years. This is not a 'left-wing' plot to make the military look bad. It is a real concern that apparently the military has enough evidence of to take seriously.

As for the results of the report, again, if you had done your homework, you would have discovered that the report was not meant for public consumption. It was designed for law enforcement agencies and was leaked, no doubt by someone who wanted to inflame sentiments against the current administration despite the fact that the report was commissioned by the previous administration.

So, here's a question for you: why do you suppose Bush Co. felt the need for this report in the first place?
To discredit their base, or, maybe, they felt that there is a real threat that needs to be addressed, because, despite all the hand-wringing on the right, national security is larger than partisan politics.
Apparently, even President Bush got that part right.

Actually TigerLily, I can take your point to heart. You do make sense.

Here's a question. Should a veteran be more scrutinized than a tree hugger that might set ski resorts or homes on fire to stop encroachment on owl habitats?

Since it was leaked, it's too bad the report didn't include Code Pink members, or members of PETA as folks to be wary of. They are just as likely to become killers as anyone else.

LOL, now that's a ticket I'd like to see. Hey, maybe Rush could have a Let's Legalize Oxycontin platform.
