Now the flip flop http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/15/us.../15health.html
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is signaling to Congress that the president could support taxing some employee health benefits, as several influential lawmakers and many economists favor, to help pay for overhauling the health care system

Mr. Obama’s proposed limit on deductions would raise an estimated $318 billion over 10 years, or half of his proposed “health care reserve fund.” That is a fraction of the revenues that could be raised from taxing employer-provided health benefits.
In the campaign, Mr. McCain estimated that taxing all health benefits would raise $3.6 trillion over a decade — “a multitrillion-dollar tax hike,” one Obama advertisement said

Is he now admitting McCain was right?

A slap in the face to the union members (usually have better benefits than the private sector) who supported his campaign, but it sounds fair. Let them get some skin in the game!

Wonder ,if passed, would it break his promise of not raising taxes on people making less than $250K yearly?

Why would you wait for or expect spin? If this indeed something that he will support he would have an extremely hard time from too many democrats to count come election time as well as any democrat congressman or senator for the 2010 elections.

I agree we need better medical coverage, but not if its going to hit me deeper in the pockets.

Oddly enough I agree.. I think most people need better medical coverage, but not if I'm going to have to pay for their lack or willingness to get it..

Now your starting to sound like a conservative who realises that you cant get a jaguar, on a vw budget..

Dam, not what you mean, which is you want better medical coverage and want someone ELSE to pay for it.. I mean how else do you think its going to be funded?
