Ron Paul makes a lot of sense, therefore he is out of the mainstream of the GOP. He will have a slightly larger dedicated base than Palin will, but she has more sex appeal and will likely beat him in a head to head contest. What Paul has is ideas and a philosophical foundation that guides his actions. All Palin has (and apparently what the GOP constituency wants) is a talking point outlook. Otherwise explain Limbaugh. Truth and effectiveness is irrelevant to the mainstream GOP. It is much more important to walk around like Denny Crane and mutter "tax cut" and "grrrrr socialism" than it is to actually do something effective that will improve things.

Lots of people missing from the list: Haley Barbour, Bobby Jindal, Tom Tancredo, Pat Roberts, Newt Gingrich, Kit Bond, Jim DeMint.

I can almost guarantee that several of these will make a try at it.

I'd like to see a Romney/Jindal ticket for 2012.

When 2012 rolls around the big national issue may be something completely different than what it is now and it seems like that's what drives Americans to vote in a particular way.

I wish candidates and their minions weren't allowed to spend any money at all on advertising so people would be forced to look at what the candidate has done rather than what they say to get elected.

Yup I'd like to see Ron Paul in there....however if I have to look at someone on the TV for the next 4 yrs Palin is hot! Since I've been basing my decisions on who's the lesser of two evils in the past 3 elections and that hasn't panned out so well, maybe its time I base my criteria on who's hotter lol!

What in the world is wrong with you conservatives? You got your arses kicked late last year, a sound rejection of what you stand for. You suck! You were supposed to get the clue, go away and reinvent yourselves. You were supposed to devise a new ideology that is not rooted in the Stone Age. You were supposed to figure out why you haven't a clue how to run an economy, or fight crime in THIS country. You were supposed to figure out why simply saying "no taxes" is not the solution to the problems that plague this country. You're always on the inferior and wrong side of the civil rights, affirmative action argument, and you are way off on the abortion issue. You can't stop illegal immigration and your legal immigration preference has displaced millions of qualified americans. We're in this recession because of you. We lost that ideological war and spent a trillion dollars doing so because of you. Far, far too early for you to be taking about dragging these Mr. Peabodys up just to get slaughtered by the best man to reside in the oval office in recent memory, maybe in history.

Buzz off and get your act together rather than talking about these rejects from your rejected ideology. This is Obama's time!
