I'm one of the biggest opponents of the president but if you dont understand how a presidential escort takes place, I suggest you educate yourself on it.

Even though 3,000 go for protection, they rarely can have more than 1,000 at any given time doing protection because of the way transporation takes place.

Group A covers the landing of the plane to the helicopter, group B is preparing to protect the president when he lands in the helicopter and travels by car to the location he will speak at, group C would cover from the location of the speach to the next stop etc.

Yes, sometimes it takes a lot of people to protect the President depending on where he is going.

Your exactly right. I have a neighbor who is retired from the Secret Service from back in the Reagan era, he was on the detail that followed the VP around, Bush Sr.
This is more whining and blubbing. I would think people should have more pride then this.

This whining about this is a sign they can't find anything REAL and substantive to complain about.
