Guess that irks you???

Guess you are against most entitlements??? So workers should pay taxes forever and receive nothing in return???

It is a base tenant of the Republican Party that all workers exist to be exploited for the benefit of the owners. That is the Right and Proper way for a society and an economy to operate.

Considering that during the period in question, the Republicans have had seven 4 year administrations to the Dems three, I think it's not totally unfair to place the larger portion of blame on the Repubs. And GW inherited a surplus... And Ronnie started the massive deficit spending. He also raised taxes several times, something a lot of righties choose to ignore.

Excellent points. Besides, a grown man who calls his wife "Mommy" kind of
creeps me out.

Yeah, that's cringe worthy.

I was young and impressionable, just going into the military, from a family with many active service members and vets, of all branches, so I was one of those swing voters who voted for Unca' Ronnie. I regret it now, but hey, live and learn.

Generally speaking - yes, I oppose most entitlements.

As for Social Security and Medicare; there are, IMO, alternatives that would / could better serve the American Taxpayer. Personally, I made the conscious decision decades ago, to withdraw from the Social Security system and by doing so, I can never get Social Security, Medicare, SSI etc. Nor, can my family get "benefits" from SS based on my earnings.

One of the best moves I have ever done -

very good post. the doctrine that debt is meaningless comes directly from ronald reagan a self appointed economist. many accomplishments, this is not one of them.
debt is slavery, it is not in fact meaningless.

Interesting. Where can i find the data that backs up your claims about how people view SS and medicare? Not disagreeing would just like to see the data or statistics that back up your claim.

For only a dollar a day you get to own a piece of your very own war. It's like helping to make history. For that paltry sum you get to help underwrite the Bush Legacy, which was to take Reaganomics to it's logical end. Deficits don't matter. Ronnie said so.

Don't you feel like you're getting your money's worth? Isn't it better than throwing it away on a donation to an IRA or a 401K?
If it was'nt so sad b/c of the unnecessary deaths if would be funny b/c the ones who complaining that Obama is spending too much were silent during the Iraq war. The really sad thing about it is that Obama is spending the money on the US!

I never understood why they (the rupubs) consider him a hero in the first place. Was'nt he considered to be the one who opened the flood doors for coke in the 80's?
