I think both of these men used terrible judgement. And there isn't any excuse for it.

For Sanford to just take off and disappear like he did (to be with his mistress on Father's Day no less) was just ridiculous. South Carolina, his wife and his boys deserved much, much better. So did the GOP.

I disagree, in part.

South Carolina's redneck majority got exactly what it bargained for.

If Sanford resigns, they are going to get a double dose of it when Bauer takes office.

I don't think the people of South Carolina ("rednecks" included) bargained for this at all. The whole thing has been just shocking really....
