Much hay has been made over President Obama’s supposed vulnerability in 2012, Mark Halperin writes, but when you look at his probable challengers and his formidable political skills, his prospects seem positively rosy. Two legit Republican contenders exist at the moment: Mitt Romney “remains unexpectedly unfamiliar” (Halperin says a flight attendant mistook his picture on a book cover for John Edwards), and as for Tim Pawlenty—who’s that?

President Obama Can't Lose in 2012 if GOP Can't Come Up With Challengers Apart From Romney, Pawlenty, Etc.: Mark Halperin

It looked like Scott Brown was the man for a while but the GOP seems like they feel betrayed by him.
McDonnell pretty much screwed himself over with the confederate month thing
Thurmond doesn't have a favorable opinion north of the mason-Dixon line
Romney has no arguments against Obama - he spawned the UHC in America
Palin has a lower IQ than Dan Quayle
Sorry rightwingers, you're crap out of luck...

I still think it is way to soon to make predictions. Romney will not get the nomination, I feel pretty certain of that. Of course this in only an opinion and not based on anything else. I just don't think he has the winning personality which maybe shouldn't make a difference but it certainly does. I still maintain it is someone nobody is even talking much about right now. Probably it will be easier to judge what might happen in about another 9 months or so.

I don't think anyone ever thought McDonnell would be a serious contendor other than maybe someone like you who is on the other side. I can think of a dozen candidates that would be more likely to get the support of the party and the voters.

I doubt that anyone will come to the forefront this early. Give the liberal media demons too much time to destroy them. So much time, so little unemployement money.

Yup.
And with the economy heading into recovery things should be in pretty good shape when Obama is up for re-election.
He will win easily.

The media doesn't destroy Republican candidates. Their own words and actions do a splendid job of this.

The economy falls deeper into the toilet everyday, with nothing better on the horizon. A large % of the people who were fooled by the liar last time, have wised up and wouldn't consider voting for him again.
You have to wonder who tells you what your opinion is, because they have no clue what is going on in the country. 2 1/2 more years and we will flush that socialist bum down the drain. Then all of his crap will be reversed, and the country will be saved..!
