Dr. Paul has co-written legislation with and is friends with Barney Frank, so not all Dems in the mainstream hate him. He also is friends with Kucinich and has written legislation with Kucinich and with Alan Grayson, but they are on the left wing of the party.
That said, Dr. Paul or Gary Johnson WOULD have a chance at winning a general election. It's surviving the GOP primary that would be the problem.

btw I have my dates wrong 1800s for Andrew Jackson 7th president. and he was also a democrat so don't rule them out if they are any good just research. But I dont agree with everything Jackson did. Nullification crisis + Indian removal crisis are some examples. But as long as they can kill fractional reserve banking system I'm all for it.
