Many believe he is the clear cut winner for the next election, and many also believe he is a one term president.

What are your thoughts on this?

Criteria to help you explain why you say this;

- His foreign policy (if any)
- His approval rating (current)
- His belief on certain subjects
- His future opponent (assumption)
- His take on legislation (bills, taxes, etc..)
I think he has a good shot. I think there are other candidates who might be stronger than him.

My main concern is that the American voters vote out of ignorance and media stupidity. There is a segment of America that is so brainwashed that it's scary. Having a legitimate and relaxed political talk with these folks is impossible. They want to hate endlessly and their votes end up being very charged by ugly sentiments. Its an ugly ballgame at work in American politics and civilian ignorance.

At the present time this topic is way, way to premature to even consider. I know the Republican right will do their very best to sink his ship but they've under estimated him and the folk's who vote for him before.

They did underestimate him, but many who supported him in 2008 have already said they would not do it again, many independants have declared themselves to be conservative and are hoping for a choice and just because he pulled it off last time has no bearing this time. That isn't always the case, this Presidentual time around I think people are going to think more closely.

You are right it is premature.

There's a joke in there somewhere about a Fox News education.

I think he's done.

But, it depends on how bad he loses. I say he loses by a few electoral votes.

Based on the economy, he will join the likes of other one termers. Hoover comes to mind first!

Regardless of his lack of care for the gulf, or his socialized agenda, or sidestepping of responsibility,

most people will vote with their pocketbooks.

Regardless of the mess he may, or may not have inherited, it rests on his shoulders. He signed up for the position.

Results on the economy are the only thing that will matter at election time.

In there where it says "economy unemployment rate can reach the lower teens by the end of 2011" that does not seem like a good sign at all for him.

I'm neutral in this regard for him being president/or not. I support him when he's in office hoping he makes the right decisions, I personally have about 1 year to see where my support goes from there.

In 2008, I was for Ron Paul... lol, well that didn't end well. Haha, it's hilarious how I have been the only one to vote "honestly could care less about politics"... I did it for fun, but I'm surprised no one else did either, that's fine though. I've got some good decision making to do in the next one year. This BP oil spill is ticking me off though, so much loss of wildlife, the poor innocent animals that lives there/interacted there are dying...

He is a leftist. Just look at his record when he was a Senator.

Why do some people keep trying to bring Fox News into the discussion? The subject in this thread has nothing to do with Fox News. I guess when you can't debate, just mention Fox News!

I have looked at his record, as well as reading his books that outline his beliefs, followed him fairly extensively since he announced he was campaigning and read many third party accounts of his beliefs and actions.

Obama has been extremely forthcoming and specific with his beliefs and views, and they fall almost perfectly inline with moderate Democrats like myself. If we wanted someone more liberal, Hilary would have been the president.

I didn't. I was cracking a joke at your expense.
