At first it upset me when I heard all the criticism towards Rand Paul. Then I realized most of it is coming from outside Kentucky and (as much as they would like to) they will not be able to vote against him. This poll confirms what I was thinking.

Let this be a lesson to my fellow conservatives. Never listen to the elites when they urge you to vote for the establishment Republican in the primary because the real conservative is "too extreme to win in the general election". Ignore the fearmongering.

They are trying to do the same thing here in Nevada. The establishment is behind Sue Lowden and says she is the only candidate who could beat Harry Reid. The real conservative in the race is Sharron Angle, she is endorsed by the tea partyexpress and that's who I'm going to proudly vote for.

Some of the Rep establishment is saying they will vote for Reid over Angle if she wins the primary! This just goes to show that the estblishment Reps are TOTAL RINOs and can not be trusted, They are not conservatives in the least.

Believe it or not, there are us non-rednecks and non-hillibillies who think Kentucky is a decent place. Some of us are even black like I am.

I also don't plan on voting for Paul or Conway. I will likely do a write-in.

If he continues to open his mouth and express his beliefs frankly and honestly, he'll drop in the polls.

In any case I wouldn't take Kentucky, or Paul, seriously.
How is Kentucky a backwards state?

Glad you asked.

For starters they are 6th in divorce rates and 14th in teenage pregnancy rates.

golly, it looks to me with the 6th highest divorce rate and the 14th highest teen preg rate, they are a pretty contempory state. Isn't that the trend today, get pregnant as a teen, not to mention the national divorce rate?

I agree with the support for Angle. She is the best candidate but, at this stage, I'd take any of the three GOP candidates over the despicable Harry Reid. I also agree that RINOs are frustrating and, in some cases, more tough to deal with than Democrats. Here in Indiana, we have to choose between a RINO (Coats) and self-proclaimed conservative Democrat who miraculously voted in favor of Obamacare despite being a conservative Democrat (Ellsworth).

Rand Paul will win his election and he will win it by a lot more than 6%.

So poor people are stupid. And they are taught by stupid teachers who accept the low pay.

Teenage birth rates, not just being pregnant. Choosing to give birth instead of getting an abortion plays into those numbers.

Default Kentucky

It's funny how the people who talk about how accepting they are can't accept Middle America conservatives.

I was going to bring up the birth rate thing as well, but you did it for me. Good for you..Don't you know though, many think anyone who gets pregnant as a teen should have an abortion..??
