Obviously you're gonna have some outlying people who are part of a generation they shouldn't be a part of (the Beatles for example are Boomers but shouldn't be since the boom begins in 45/46)
i would say out of the living generations:
'Greatest' Generation 1910-1929 the current very old people, young adults, vets and survivors of WW2
Silent Generation 1930-1945 the bulk of today's old people, grew up in the 40s and 50s, kinda the first generation to grow up with a modern pop culture and TV
Boomers 1946-1964 the 60s and 70s generation. born after the war, forever young, beatles fans, older ones were hippies
Gen X 1965-1979 the 80s and 90s generation. grew up with MTV, grunge, new wave, and cable, but without the internet and computers.
Gen Y 1980-1994 kids of the 90s, teens and young adults of the 00s and 10s. the hip hop generation, have always been familiar with computers.
Gen Z 1995-2009 the current crop of kids. currently nothing really distincts them from gen y, aside from not being able to remember the 90s, though i imagine that will change with time.
I hate generalizations based upon generations.
I also despise the 1910-29 births being called the "greatest generation".
I don't think Al Capone and people that oppressed and lynched blacks should be put on a pedestal above anyone.
I was born in the late 80s, and the first time I used the internet was 2003, so I think these generalizations are wrong.

yeah, that's why i quoted 'greatest generation', i dont agree with it either, i think it's because they were WW2 vets and nothing else.

Al Capone was actually a member of the Lost Generation (born 1890-1909).
