I think David Caruso "blew it" when he left NYPD Blue after only one season. He didn't have a successful comeback until CSI: Miami.

Demi Moore. Loved in her in the 80s and early 90s. Then she did Striptease. It was all downhill from there.

Lew Ayers was a pacifist who became a conscientious objector during WWII. He actually joined the Medical Corps after originally being turned down and served with distinction in the Pacific. However the media blasted him for being a pacifist and his career skidded almost to a halt for many years. Meanwhile suave George Sanders, although nominally a British citizen refused to serve at all. Sanders was born in Russia, and spoke fluent German. He even knew a few high ranking German officials during that time, and seemed unconcerned at first as to who would win the war. The fact that he almost always played Nazis during that time seemed to shield him in the public opinion, and he didn't miss a beat during the war with his career.

Right. I saw him in an interview and he is very, very thankful for the CSI: Miami gig. He confessed that leaving NYPD Blue was a huge mistake. I really liked his character on Blue so much. I spotted him in "An Officer and a Gentleman." He was one of the trainees and dropped out because he could not hack it.

That's interesting about Lew Ayers. I love his Dr. Kildare movies. He was also great in "All Quiet on the Western Front." Gifted actor.

Jan Michael Vincent.

He blew it with drugs and alcohol and couldn't get either monkey off his back. Very much like Gary Busey and it looks like Nick Nolte is doing the same thing.

I saw Lavar Burton in a SciFi made for TV movie yesterday. A zombie flick. I didnt even recognize him.

Wasn't David Caruso also in the first Rambo movie?

Jeffrey Hunter went from "A" films like the Searchers and King of Kings to TV roles such as Temple Houston and the pilot of Star Trek. At that time movie stars tended to stay away from TV roles if they could except for talk shows. It was seen as a step down from starring film roles. As an aside Hunter reportedly turned down returning for the second Star Trek pilot because his girlfriend of the time convinced him that sci-fi roles were the lowest rung on the acting ladder.
