No smartphone addicts, no Facebook or Twitter (I do NOT miss dialup modems though)
Grunge music
MTV still played music videos...120 Minutes, Headbangers' Ball, Daria and the Real World when it was actually good
Roseanne, Twin Peaks, Seinfeld and a few others
The Simpsons was still well-written and funny

Honestly, not much else. I am more nostalgic in terms of pop culture for the 70s and 80s - in the 90s many things started to go downhill, IMO. And the tv shows and music I liked then are still available and easier than ever to get ahold of, thanks to Youtube and the internet in general.

Just about everything. The world wide web was something new and exciting. The music was great. All of it. The 90s Ford pickups. My S10 pickup.

Babydoll dresses with thigh high socks and granny boots
Colorblock minidresses
Overalls with tank tops
Contempo Casuals and Wet Seal
Talking to boys on the phone (no texting) or staying up all night "talking" on the couch (no Facebook)
Cruising and hanging out on the Sunset Strip
Being a pseudo groupie and having a few pseudoceleb flings
Fun times with hanging out with Navy guys in Long Beach and Marines in Oceanside
Weekend trips to Baja
Interning at a major record company
Listening to and loving all types of music
Hearing random bands play at hole in the walls and little dive bars

Pretty much everything was superior in the 90s.

Fast food tasted better.

Wrestling was at its absolute best (thanks to the Monday night wars between WWF and WCW).

Nintendo and Sega reigned supreme in the video game world and Mario 64 blew everybody's mind with it's vivid, colorful 3d graphics.

Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Family Matters, Frasier, Roseanne, A Different World, Wayne's Brothers, Jamie Foxx Show.

R&B was so much better, especially in the early 90s.

Jordans and sports jerseys!

Also 90s Ford pickups like somebody else said.

Everything was much less watered down.

Yep, I'd say the 90s were the last decade that had any real culture. Now you just have a mish-mash of shallow fluff.

The only thing the 2000s has over the 90s is the internet faster, more efficient use of the internet. I've met a lot of cool, educated, interesting friends that I would never have met if it weren't for the internet. And I suppose a wider variety of movies as well.

The 90s with fast, efficient, internet would be utopia. Of course, would the 90s be ruined if we had Facebook back then?

TV-Series: Heartbreak High, Party of Five, The Simpsons, Friends, Baywatch, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Spin City
Politics: end of the Cold War, less worrying about terrorism
