I was surprise that the thread went 16 posts before theatergypsy identified Ebeneezer Scrooge. Even more surprising is reaching 40 plus posts without any mention of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table. Who in western culture is unfamiliar with Arthur, Merlin, Lancelot et al?

Does Jack Bauer fit this list? I just love the guy and would be him if I could be anyone I think. IF he doesn't fit the list well then Wolverine is my all time favorite comic book hero from my youth, plus Huge Jackman plays him perfectly in the movies!

Has anyone thought to mention Smokey the Bear?

Who doesn't know about Smokey? You light up a cigarette in the forest and Smokey will crush your butt.
