Is Dave Chapelle the funniest American comedian ever?
This are my reasons to think that Dave Chapelle is the funniest American comedian ever.
- Had the balls to have as his first comedy sketch on his show a sketch about the klan
- For every character he played, he could easily make a comedy movie.
- His originality was plain and simple off the chart
Too many to compare. Rodney Dangerfield had some funny movies. Then let's not forget the stooges. Then there's Richard, Bette Midler, Lucille Ball, Joan Rivers, whoopie goldberg, etc. But for pure pee your pants funny my vote is Richard Pryor.

Yeah his characters were so funny, but there was another show which had that kind of humor - In Living Color, sooooo funny!!!
"Homey dont play dat!" my fave line from that show.
I watch Chapelle when i want to see some irreverant bold humor,, Dave Chappell had a charming way about him so he could say some bad ass things and crack me up! he had such an imagination too.. his skits were never boring or predictable.
In Living Color was great, but keep in mind that many famous comedians came out of that show (Jim Carrey, Tommy Davidson, David Alan Grier, Jamie Foxx, the Wayans brothers, among others)
The Dave Chapelle show was mostly Dave Chapelle doing the sketches.
You're right though, that "Black White Supremacist" sketch was absolute genius.
I was thinking the other day that that sketch is so genius, that it should be used in social study classes to have discussions about racism.
The sketch is funny and seems crazy and ridiculous.... but it completely makes sense, the kid was blind and was raised that way.
