Star Trek, Next Generation. Peace, on Earth, at least. And no more money!
How come they never show what the people who are not employed by Star Fleet do for a living? Who is paying for such a military industrial complex? What are the tax rates to the civilians to police the universe?

The original Star Trek tiptoed around civilian life.
ST Deep Space Nine delved more deeply into civilian life. Quark's bar was populated by civilians. Gold plated latnium - what a crock! But I did enjoy those episodes on Frerengi Prime. Ride the elevator costs you. Using the staircase was free. Capitalism at it's finest!
The Hundred Acre Wood. The worst things they have to worry about are honey-induced dreams of heffalumps and woozles, an occasional rainstorm, and temporarily getting stuck in a rabbit hole (which isn't a huge deal because ALL of your friends will help you get out).
Time travel world through space and the universe.. traveling through black holes, whirl pools the underneath oceans, and star-burst nebulas; historical land marks on earth, and the beginning of the end from where the universe starts and where it ends (which is probably no where). From nothingness to matter. Time travel universe in multiple dimensions and parallel realities would be awesome!

The Federation used credits. I suppose it would be like using your debit card for everything and not actually having any cash. Whatever the Bajorans used had been wiped out and I loved the way Sisko was willing to 'bend' with the compromise if he needed something from Quark.
The federation people ended up keeping a stock of latinum around just in case though, since not everything you might want might be available 'officially' and they didn't work for gambeling. The replimat was free to eat but Quark and the other restraunteers charged.
In the books its mentioned that people got into the habit of keeping food in their quarters since the replicators often were down and it made the critter problem greater with something for the voles to find so often.
I got the impresson that families on the station got bored. Keiko despite her skills as a botenist didn't have enough to keep her busy. I'm guessing if you didn't have skills you had a long day.
I would take the Marvel Universe. Since there have been crossovers, DC Universe could technically be considered part of that as well. I would have to have some sort of power though. I'm thinking something like Superman with the tactical capabilities of Batman. The powers of Storm, Magneto, as well as Phoenix thrown in for good measure.
I'd like to be a Professor of Transfiguration at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
