I was reading the comments for the MTV Unplugged concert version of A-ha’s “Take On Me” on YouTube.

One poster wrote that Morten Harket (the lead singer of A-ha) could be Tom Cruise’s father, and Harrison Ford could be Cruise’s grandfather.



Harket is only 2 years and 10 months older than Cruise, and Harrison Ford is a few days shy of 20 years older than Cruise.

I’d forgotten that both the guy who played Paulie (the guy who fell off the bridge) in Saturday Night Fever and the guy who played Dr. Romano on ER, and now plays a judge on All Rise (Paul McCrane ?) were in Fame.

ETA:The end shows Times Square as it was when I was first there (in the 70s).....when cars could drive through. The film came out in the Spring of 1980, so some of it was likely filmed in the 70s.

Whether one hates, loves, or is indifferent to the song, I think the person did a good job on picking the clips and editing the video (picked up a number of touchstones from 80s American cinema, TV, and music videos):
