My husband and I were talking about our moms, who both sleep with the television blaring. If I am visiting my mom I will go in her room and turn it off (she never says anything, I think she expects it from me having done it since I was a child) but my husband says his mom doesn't like it when he turns the TV off.
For not having cable my hubby and I constantly have something going on the television. We enjoy the background noise, but I need silencio when we are sleeping. Just wondering if anyone else either 1) has to have the TV always on or 2) sleeps with it on.

I sleep with the TV on, but the sound is very low or off.

No TV in the bedroom.
Nice and quiet.

I fall asleep with it on but set the sleep timer for it to go off once asleep.

Same here, barely audible volume, and the more boring HGTV program the better, set for 60 minutes.

I do.

I compromise with my SO by having the timer set for it to go off automatically at 12 midnight.
If I can't sleep I'll turn it back on or go watch it in the living room.

I've actually had some dreams that is in sync with the program.
Those zombie movies late at night can cause a few nightmares.

Only 1 TV and it's in the family room....it's not uncommon for us to fall asleep while the
TV is on but when we wake up we turn it off and go to bed.

Yea, I either have my TV on or I put shows or podcasts on my laptop and put it on a sleep timer. It's tough to sleep just laying there in silence and I always hear random sounds like dogs barking, cars with loud stereos, random creaks etc if I don't. I usually put on relaxing shows like Everybody Loves Raymond or old Howard Stern radio segments.

I do! I turn on a documentary every night when I go to bed and have the TV turn off automatically after 1 hour.
