lol that is another one that annoys me. I was talking about how they just keep using their weak ass hand gun instead of taking the dead guys high powered automatic rifle.
Well, that's because the bad guy didn't hit a thing with two clips using that automatic rifle, while the good guy nailed all the thugs at 200 feet with a pistol. Therefore the pistol is the superior weapon. It's in the script so it must be true.
Then there's the ever-popular exploding car. The car goes off the road. The driver is unconscious. We see gasoline leaking from the car. A hero appears who sees the car and the unconscious driver and runs down the slope--this always happens on a slope, never on flat land--pulls the driver from the vehicle and begins to carry her up the slope. For some reason, he stops and turns to look at the vehicle, and at that very moment, the car explodes!
Remember when action movies would always have the hero initiate the explosion to a building, or factory with a Zippo?
Many modern American movies follow current politics very closely mostly because of economics and also because of the producers' inability to free their creative abilities from their anger and politics. As such, many of their movies where people die have become very predictable to anyone with any life experience. For me, these are as annoying as watching a cable news show.
Most of us can usually tell in the first 15 minutes which characters will die and some role characteristics reveal how horribly and painfully they will die. Roles that reveal a greater risk to a character that they will not survive to the end include:
1. Treating animals badly, especially furry mammals.
2. Displaying a conservative political ideology on a single subject.
3. A strong male.
4. Displaying a personal Bible or a ministers role.
5. Living rurally.
6. Living in a southern State.
7. Displaying a knowledge of small weapons.

Did anyone else mention Asians always being really good at martial arts? It seems like every movie out there with Asians in it has them kicking butt with hands, feet or swords.
On TV shows and in movies; the main characters never have any difficulty finding a parking place - anywhere! They need to park, there's a space, no waiting, no looking, no circling the block.

Because they are always i the right place, at the right time...
