I've recently finished watching all the Star Trek shows in order, and have really been missing that fix. I didn't realize, until I read this article, that there were all kinds of things on YouTube that might help:
We're Living In The Golden Age Of Star Trek Webseries Right Now

I've watched the first few minutes of some of them now - once you get past the green screen effect, they're not so bad...

Has anyone gotten into any of these? If so, which is your favorite, and which would you recommend for me to begin with?

If it helps, I loved all the "originals" except Enterprise. It was really hard to keep up with and get through that one (for me). I prefer more stand-alone episodes and less physical combat.

By far, my favorite so far is Star Trek Continues. Really feels like TOS. And James Doohan's son portrays Scotty and has it down pat.

To answer the question you actually asked... I love Star Trek; but I have not been able to get into fan created stories. My feeling is that without sanction it is worst than the idea of Lucas creating multiple versions of Star Wars.

Ah replies! Thanks Coney, I'll start with that one. I haven't had a chance to revisit my quest since my OP.

And, blktoptrvl, thank you, and I can understand that. I figure it's worth a shot but I may come away with the same feeling.

Thx to the others who replied. In retrospect, I see I could have definitely phrased things better.
